Thank You 2025 Donors! Because of you, we...
  • Partnered with Bryant University to conduct a 10-event, in-person state competition for 17 schools and 238 students.
  • Will send 2 school teams to USAD Nationals in Des Moines, IA (May 2025)
  • Will award $6,000 in Senior scholarships.
You can support RIAD with the cost of a medal ($20) or the registration of a school team ($100). Regardless of the amount, know you are supporting Rhode Island students!

Start a Decathlon Team    at your High School

If you’re a student, look for friends who are up for a challenge. It’s not what you’ve won, but what you’ve done. Once you have your first recruits, you might set up a club. If so, you’ll want to find a faculty advisor—a coach.
If you’re a teacher, look for that first student, one with curiosity, drive, and a bit of spunk. He or she can help you find a second, and a third. You don’t need a complete team the first time you participate, and you don’t need to learn every subject or medal in every event. The big picture is simple: recruit a team to explore a theme, ten exciting events at a time.
As you get organized, be sure to reach out to RIAD to find out how to register your team, recruit members, and order materials. Get started with our Team Resources page.
